About the founder

Kevin A. Douglas

Kevin has over 20 years of experience as a designer and artist—first setting his hand to design for a paying client in 1985.

His focus, since the very beginning, has been creating signature, visually rich designs with alluring, clean layouts. He takes every new project as a challenge to build beautiful, inviting web pages that are a joy to linger on, easy to understand, and intuitive to navigate.

Kevin's specialty is designing user interfaces, and taking a client's existing business identity and personal vision and transforming that into a tangible web experience for their site's visitors.

He has a special interest in actualizing the identities of the global creative community of artists, healers, and mystic teachers; himself having started Kundalini yoga in 1979, which opened his eyes to the greater possibilities of the human psyche.

Kevin is avid about staying current on best practices and emerging standards while focusing on non-proprietary, open source, technologies. He designs his sites to be functional on multiple browsers, across major operating system platforms and codes them so they gracefully still work on legacy browsers that don't support the latest technologies.

In his own words

Kevin spending time with friends

“One way I can be in service, is by bringing joy and beauty to the world through providing wonderful web sites to the people who are creating positive change in our global community.”

My family has been working with, playing on, and programming computers since before 1979, which was the year of my first hands-on experience using an Apple II for word processing and games.

Like most people, I discovered the web as a casual end-user. However, as a visual artist, I was dismayed at the clumsy aesthetics and poor design standards of most websites; I was convinced that I could do it better.

That glimpse into the future launched me on my path building web sites. In 1999, I immersed myself in computer-aided graphic design and web site design, exploring the boundaries of streaming Flash movies, action scripting, dynamic-html with scripted functionality, site layout, information architecture, heuristics and usability, and web-optimized photo editing.

My maxim was, "If you could imagine it as an ideal, I would find a way to make it a reality on a web page". Sometimes it took years for the technology to catch up to what I was trying to accomplish, when I first started.

Since then, web site design has been my passion, hobby, and profession. There is always something more to learn, and so many facets to it, that it never gets old. I hope to be doing this for years to come.
