What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a carefully regulated and monitored research study that is performed with humans prior to the release of a drug, medication or pharmaceutical product to the general public. Before the clinical trial study, a drug is extensively tested through pre-clinical research.

Why should I participate in a study?

The reasons that people participate are varied. Some of the benefits of participation include knowing that you are making a real difference by helping future generations have a better life through better medical care, as well as the added benefit of receiving a free physical examination and treatment for the duration of the study.

Is it safe?

We at ACT consider your safety and care our number one priority. Our commitment is to you and our community. We won't undertake a trial if we believe there are undue risks involved.

What if I don't have insurance?

You can still participate in a study even if you don't have insurance. There is no insurance involvement so there are never any insurance or managed care provider hassles or restrictions.

Does it cost me anything?

The care and treatment you receive is completely free. It costs you nothing to participate in a study.

Will I get paid for participating?

It depends on the individual study. Most people participate in a study for the possibility of trying advanced treatment, working closely with experienced researchers, helping benefit others in the future through better medical treatments, and for additional benefits that wouldn't otherwise be available, all at no expense to them.

Are the studies regulated?

All studies are strictly regulated by an FDA approved ethics committee review board to ensure the highest possible safety standards.

Is my privacy respected?

Absolutely. Your participation in a clinical study is considered confidential and will not be discussed outside the treatment setting without your permission.

How long are the studies?
