Behind the scenes:

Caren asked us for a site that would evoke a sense of wonder through discovery, to reflect her own talent for unearthing overlooked treasures and ideas from the commonplace.

We acheived that goal through the use of macro imagery with a youthful discovery theme, a cool colored canvas containing a window revealing a warmer colored focal point adds a sense of intimacy and involvement, and a clean open layout with plenty of whitespace invites the eye to linger over the elements on the page.

Logo design

Designing the Fresh Grok logo—a purple butterfly—as an animation with a slow rhythm, similar to an actual butterfly (that can also be used as a static logo image), gives her site a final touch of surprise without being visually distracting from the written message.
