INTRODUCTION: ICU WEB
Searches reputable, high-inventory, online book merchants (vendors) by ten (10) digit ISBN number or thirteen (13) digit EAN barcode number -- starting with the 978 prefix.

LEARN ABOUT IT HERE
What this program can not do is search a standard UPC barcode number, which is any barcode number that does not begin with the 978 prefix.
STEP ONE: Input ISBNs and EAN Barcodes
Enter one or more ISBN or EAN Barcode(s) in the text field box to the left. Numbers must be separated by a line-break or newline. An example of multiple entries with five mixed ISBNs and EANs to process will look something like this.
When entering more than one or two numbers, I suggest entering them into a separate text file or document and then copy and paste the information into this text field.
STEP TWO: Select Vendors
Choose one or more checkboxes.
Selecting the checkbox next to a vendor name will include that vendor in the lookup process.
You can also select the vendor name next to a checkbox to open that vendor's web site in a new browser window.
If you choose SELECT ALL or SELECT NONE it will activate or deactivate all checkboxes at once.
By selecting more than one vendor you can get an idea of price anomalies and it will give you the averaged price across vendors.
STEP THREE: Display Results
Select the Search Now button to display the results in a new browser window. Remember, you can always go back and do it again once you get the hang of it, so take the plunge -- press the button!
STEP FOUR: Save Results
If you want to keep a copy of your results you can save the web browser page as a file on your computer. All browsers that I know of allow you to do this.
- Select the File drop down menu.
- Then select Save As... or Save Page As... depending on your browser.
- Then under the Save as type: option, choose Text File.
- Now select a name for your file that you can remember and choose a location on your computer where you will be able to find the file.
- Now click the Save button.
Even if you feel a little lost, no harm will come from trying it and your computer should be able to open and read the saved file no matter which file type you save it as.
FOOTNOTE: Partial Results
Not all vendors will produce results on all books. Also, if a vendor is receiving high web traffic on their regular site, you might not get any results for that vendor for your entire list of books.
