Applications:
The OSEN Training Seminar will be offered June 19-23, 2006 in
Eugene, Oregon.
Applications will be available in January 2006.
The application process has two steps:
- Participants must complete a pre-application, which includes
describing the organization you represent; stating why you
would like to attend the seminar; and including a letter of
support from your governing body. Pre-applications are accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Once each pre-application are approved, the individual must
fill out a final application and submit with payment.
The Oregon Symposium for Entrepreneurial
Nonprofits [OSEN] is a five-day business course designed to provide
training to nonprofits and municipal recycling and solid waste management
programs interested in starting waste-based social enterprises.
Participants will receive instruction from practitioners at St.
Vincent de Paul and world-class faculty members at the University
of Oregon; tour innovative recycling programs; build camaraderie
with others in the field; and leave armed with the knowledge necessary
to start a successful business. Although the OSEN is geared toward
waste-based business, it includes information that could be applicable
to other types of social enterprises.

Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
OSEN staff can make suggestions for housing and meal options.
